"I am a routine person and I loved every morning at breakfast time practising my Czech. Great thing was that the audio and video ressources were prepared with a progression and relation between them, which makes the process easier and dynamic. Personally, I love the method (stories, audio), it is really effective and I think it helps you to deeply connect to the people. Enjoy life, Eliška, moc děkuju!"

"I'm learning Czech from zero, on my own, in my home country, so my access to the language is very limited. I signed up to the challenge because I had previously studied most of the grammar topics and wanted to test my Czech. Doing challenge was fun and challenging 🙂 The grammar explanations were as good as always in slowczech. It gave me a deeper understanding of all the topics and how to use them in real life conversations. It was a very good experience to me, I was able to understand 90% of the videos, I did pretty well in the activities and that gave a lot of confidence in what I've been studying. If there's ever a challenge part two or something like that I'll totally join in."

"I was in your first 21 day grammar challenge group. Overall, I really enjoyed participating. As you had envisioned, it kept me motivated to spend at least 20 or so minutes concentrating on Czech. Everyday, I printed off the PDF, watched the video, filled out the homework, and then I put the PDFs into a three ring binder. It will be a useful reference for me as I continue my own studies. For me, the challenge was around half review and half pretty new. I did not mind that so much because, like I said, when I do get to certain items I can go back and look over the PDFs for handy review."

"The challenge was very interesting - I was a bit disappointed, because it was in English, I didn`t expect that (but now I write in English, haha). Anyway the videos and the PDFs were nice, not very demanding. The PDF in addition to the video took me about 5-10 minutes per day. Eliška made the videos from her heart, which was very "feelable" and touching. Altogether - congratulations, Eliška, you did a really good job, thank you!"

"The videos were nice and I liked that they were split in 3 parts, so I could follow and come back to certain sections easier. The topics were also nice and helpful. If you, Eliška, ever organize a challenge with more advanced topics I would like to take part. The Zoom meetings were great. I liked when we were split in smaller groups and got to talk with different people. That way I got to know the other participants better and also I didn't feel like I am taking over the group conversation. Overall I was very pleased with the challenge. The length of it and of the videos was good, the topics were well chosen, the quality of the videos and PDF was good, too. And I really liked that in one of the days Eliška focused more on spoken language than just on the formal Czech."

"I enjoyed the challenge. These are the things that I enjoyed most: The lessons were at a beginner level. I liked very much watching the videos and reading the pdf on my own, without interacting with other people. This is what I did when reviewing each video: Listen to the instructions. Listen to the example sentences and repeat each sentence. In the last part, I listened to the question and then spoke out loud a suitable answer. This was very useful. Thanks for the recent challenge. Těším se na další challenge!"

I decided to join the challenge because I wanted to establish a daily routine again. Apart from day 1 it worked out. 1) PDF/lesson: I liked that the lessons gradually got harder in the beginning (at least it seemed like that to me). Well chosen vocabulary. It never felt like there are too many new words. I also enjoyed the way question/answer examples were used. It was like having mini-conversations. 2) Video: - Eliška's gesture and facial expressions were really helpful for understanding. Show things also helped with unknown words. Eliška's enthusiasm helped staying motivated 🙂 3) ZOOM: Great opportunity to exercise talking. Good that we could see what we are going to talk about beforehand. 4) WhatsApp Group: Good opportunity for additional exercise and exchange. 5) Conclusion: Apart from some new learned grammar & vocab I have noticed that my listening skills improved. I also have a better feeling for the sentence structure now. I have to say that even though I didn't send any audios in the group chat, I became more confident with expressing myself in Czech and therefore send some audios to my tandem partner. (maybe I felt safer with someone who I know longer 🙂 ) And thanks to you I came to the realization that I shouldn't focus too much on the cases and rather on getting the verbs correct. Overall, those three weeks were a funny and educational experience. It was a great opportunity to meet fellow Czech learners. I would participate again."

"Thank you Eliška for the 21-day-challenge, I really enjoyed every bit of it. I mostly enjoyed our Zoom meetings with Czech learners from all around the world. Your daily comments and interactions on our WhatsApp group discussions were also very helpful and enriching. And of course the main part of the challenge which is the daily email with the teaching materials. I am not revealing a secret if I say that sometimes I was awake in the early morning and I waited at 5:00 a.m. exactly to receive an email from SlowCzech with a new video and a pdf file to learn something new in Czech in an easy and well-organised way. The materials were great, which is very much expected from someone like Eliška. But the timing, the timing was even better, 10-15 minutes every day is perfect. Everyone can handle 20-30 minutes of study a day for 21 days. And the results are more than satisfactory. Prostě to stoprocentně doporučuji. Stojí to za to."

"I gained a lot of confidence over the month. I thought the flow of conversation during the month was a lot of fun and added interest to the course. I especially enjoyed when another participant would share something and the conversation would take off in that direction. I wouldn’t want more structure as it might narrow the opportunities to make connections with each other and for group learning."
