We're a team of Czech tutors, language nerds and wonderfully ordinary humans. Since 2016, slowczech has helped adult learners use Czech beyond the notebook: at the shops, at work, at the dinner table, at the školka gate.
Do we teach grammar? Jasně! We just don't make you wait until your grammar is perfect before you can join a conversation. We learn through understandable Czech, real situations, meaningful repetition, playful mistakes, and people who notice the little victories.

Can I learn Czech online with slowczech?

I understand Czech, so why does my brain go blank when I speak?
Understanding a word and finding it quickly in conversation are different skills. We practise reacting, speaking and listening in real-life situations, with people who give you time to think.
What if I am an absolute beginner?
Start Speaking is our beginner-friendly online Czech group. You can also start with the Real Czech Starter Kit and our free videos and podcast.
Will people laugh at my mistakes?
We laugh together, yes. At our wonderfully weird stories, never at you. Mistakes are part of using a language, and our tutors make space for them.
Do you prepare learners for the Czech A2 exam?
Yes. We offer an Intensive Exam A2 group designed to help you practise for the Czech language exam for permanent residence. See current details on our groups page.
What is the difference between groups and Immersion?
Our group courses give you regular guided Czech lessons at your level. Immersion is our more intensive speaking programme for learners who want lots of supported real-life Czech practice.
