Your Czech is in your brain. But then a real Czech human speaks… a co teď?
A workshop for fabulous humans who understand Czech, can speak with their teacher, maybe even prepare beautiful sentences… and then freeze, panic, nod like a polite penguin, or switch to English in real life.
The live workshop happened on Friday 19 June 2026.
You are now purchasing the recording.
You have been learning for some time. You know words. You know grammar. You understand more than you can say. In lessons, when there is time, safety and a lovely teacher who waits for you like a patient Czech angel, something comes out without a problem.
And then real life arrives. A waiter looks at you and waits. A colleague asks a silly question. Your neighbour starts small talk. Your mother-in-law says something fast. Everyone is waiting.
And your brain says: dneska ne, čau.
The words were there! Ale teď? White space. Like snow. Big complete white nothing.
In this recording, you will understand why it happens, what to do before those embarrassing moments, and what to do during freeze-panic-moments... so you can stay in Czech even when your brain becomes a sněhulák.
A sunny Czech place where people order coffee, talk at work, visit family, ask for directions, stand in Albert, go to the úřad… and suddenly become frozen little language snowmen.
Houstone, máme sněhuláka.
The problem is not that you need to download 500 more Czech words into your brain like a desperate Duolingo squirrel.
The problem is that under pressure, your brain can temporarily close access to the Czech you already have.
So what is our goal? Not becoming a magical perfect Czech speaker who never freezes. The goal is much more useful, human and real-life:
Stay in the conversation when speaking goes wrong.
Because fakt, you will freeze again. I freeze, you freeze, all humans freeze. Sometimes even in our mother tongue.
The language industry loves selling you the dream that when you finally know enough grammar, enough vocabulary, enough cases and enough perfect endings, you will suddenly react beautifully in every real conversation.
Real life works differently.
In this recording, we look at freezing differently: not as proof that your Czech is never good enough, but as a nervous-system moment that needs a recovery strategy.
You will learn what to do before the freeze, during the freeze, and after your brain takes its dramatic Czech coffee break.
A clear, Eliška-joyful explanation of what happens under pressure and why “I know Czech, come ooon!” can disappear exactly when you need it.
How to expect the freeze without panicking, prepare your první pomoc phrases, and practise recovery at home instead of only practising perfect conversations.
The slowczech SNOW Protocol that helps bridge the gap between “I know it but I can’t say it” and “I continue speaking.”
Simple Czech phrases and compensation strategies so you do not have to escape the conversation the moment one word disappears.
Because real Czech conversations do not wait until you feel ready.
Eliška created this playful little protocol from what she has seen since 2016 while helping fabulous people like you feel less like outsiders and more like part of real Czech conversations.
It helps you panic less and gives you something simple to do when your brain goes blank, jo, bílý jako sněhulák.
The outcome? You still may freeze sometimes. But instead of thinking “I failed again”, you know how to recover and stay in the conversation. Hurááá!
This is not about sounding clever, native or textbook-perfect.
This is about becoming the person who does not abandon themselves the second Czech becomes harder.
After watching, you may still freeze sometimes. But you will know: “Oh. This is normal. I know why it happens. And I know what to do next.”
A few moments from the workshop wih Eliška.
You are gonna enjoy this workshop so much, promised! :-))
Important: this is not a new live workshop. You are buying access to the replay from the original live slowczech experience.
The live practice and breakout-room energy happened on 19 June 2026. But the teaching, mindset shift, Sněhulák Protocol, recovery phrases and home-practice ideas are still inside the recording waiting for you... like a tiny Czech rescue team.
Real words from the Zoom chat. Not polished. Not perfect. Just beautiful little “aha!” moments from people who were there live.

No jo no, at work, in a shop, with friends, in-laws, at the úřad... because Czech people appear everywhere. Shocking, I know!
You don’t become confident because you never freeze.
You become confident because you know how to recover.
☃️ Get the recording. You are buying access to the recording of the slowczech workshop Freeze, Freeze, Freeze. The live workshop happened on 19 June 2026, so this is replay-only access.
You will learn why your brain freezes under Czech conversation pressure, what to do before stressful situations, and how to use the SNOW Protocol during freeze moments.
Best for learners who already know at least a little Czech and understand more than they can say. It is not ideal for a 100% beginner who has never learned Czech before. The recording is in English with Czech examples.
No, and that is actually the point. The goal is not to never freeze again. The goal is to know how to recover and stay in the conversation when freezing happens.

Let’s start speaking Czech!
I am constantly looking for playful and unconventional ways of teaching. I understand the Russian soul and speak Russian myself at a native level. I can help Russian speakers avoid the pitfalls that come with the similarities between 2 languages. I am not afraid to sleep alone in the forest.
Having spent 4 years in Canada, I know how challenging it is to learn a language in a foreign country. I specialize in natural conversations that help you relieve fear of speaking. My passions include history, dance and nature. I enjoy connecting teaching with what interests you!
I’m Anna or rather Anička, and since 2019 I’ve been teaching Czech with a focus on interesting and entertaining methods. I prioritize conversations and dialogues to help students understand how the languages work. I aim to create a nurturing environment for you. Let’s start this wonderful language journey together!
I’m enthusiastic Czech tutor and Spanish interpreter. Tolerance, positive mind, joy and respect are priorities for me – in lessons and in life. I spent some time abroad and I also study languages, so I can understand your needs. I am fascinated by interpersonal relationships, human mind and wonders of nature.
I’m one of the lucky ones whose hobby is their job. I’ve learned ten foreign languages so far, and I’m currently learning German. I understand the challenges of learning Czech, but the feeling of finally getting it is incredible. I love traveling, reading books and spending time outdoors.
I started teaching in 2013 as a volunteer in a Czech village in Ukraine. After teaching in Ukraine and Canada, I joined slowczech full-time. I focus on conversation lessons. I really enjoy getting to know my students! I’m passionate about protecting the environment and volunteer for ecological organizations.
Since 2017, I’ve been teaching Czech to both groups and individuals. I tailor lessons to my students’ preferences, offering exam preparation or fun conversational classes. I believe that language connects us and fosters understanding. I’m also a certified teacher for children and have extensive experience working with kids.
I’m Daniela or Danča. I enjoy working with adults from different cultural backgrounds. To me, Czech is like a beautiful forest that we explore together. Let’s play games, discover new strategies, and share our hobbies in class. I love traveling, swimming, reading, watching films, and singing in a vocal band.

I’m Ema (or Míša), and I fell in love with teaching Czech eight years ago. Learning a language is a journey and I am here to be your guide and help you to enjoy it. Together, we always set a destination (in a week/month/year) and create a detailed itinerary, so we don´t get lost on the way. I love travelling, hiking, yoga, music, and dancing. I have a little baby now. That’s why I also offer WhatsApp and Hybrid lessons.
I’m Barbora, or Bára. Life is amazing with wonderful people, my husband and my child by my side. I’m lucky to have my dream job, helping people understand each other. I enjoy both learning and teaching. I love working on conversation skills and correct pronunciation. Share your stories with me!

I am a Prague-based Czech tutor. Let’s conquer language fears together! I know how to tailor our lessons and ask you about your goals. Is it chatting over beer, work emails, university studies, family connections? I adore languages, plants, sitcoms, books, documentaries, ping-pong, and nature trips.
I am slowczech founder and from my experience I know two things: beginners can understand words with time. And enjoyable input is vital for natural language acquisition. Many give up Czech due to old methods, irrelevant vocabulary or overwhelming grammar. Let’s change that and make learning Czech exciting and effective.
