Online Czech Immersion Program | Speak Czech in Real Life | slowczech
5 October 2026 → 5 February 2027
IMMERSION PROGRAM

You didn’t learn Czech just to listen to the conversation. Chceš být IN it.

Join a four-month online speaking program for fabulous adults and practise USING the (little) Czech you already have in small groups with other humans who are figuring this out too.

2–4 people per group Online
Show me the summary + price ↓
Adults practising Czech together in the SlowCzech Immersion Program

Your Czech is refusing to leave your head — very comfy there in pantofle.

Your Czech seems frightened by an actual Czech human suddenly expecting an actual answer, že ano? 🙂

🎈 You give your perfect sentence: “Dám si deci bílého.” YESSS. Czech, you celebrate.

Then the waiter goes off the script and your brain opens seventeen grammar tabs... at once.

🎈 You KNOW how to answer. You just need more time.

The sentence is in there in papuče, you can practically feel it loading. Unfortunately it arrives about 5 minutes after everyone has moved on to another topic. Áchjo.

🎈 Your personality gets smaller.

In your language, you have opinions, stories, stupid jokes, interesting questions. Your Czech world minimalizes into “Jo... dobrý...”

🎈 You would quite like to explain your own body or your children's body at the doctor.

Or talk to your child's teacher or send that package at the post office on your own, like a grown up... without automatically turning towards your Czech partner or friends with the HELP ME eyes.

🎈 You prepare what you'll say to that neighbour or mum next time...

Three useful sentences and možná even one follow-up question. Ano, perfect Czech! Then you see them and somehow say just “Dobrý den” and continue walking.

🎈 So you think: I probably need MORE Czech.

More vocabulary, more grammar, start Krok za krokem over again, sign up for another exam… Meanwhile, quite a lot of Czech is already sitting inside your head, waiting for somebody to train it to COME OUT.

You don't actually dream about FLUENT Czech.

You just want to have a casual connecting chat with your friends, feel like a loved member of family when visiting in-laws, understand what your colleagues are laughing about at the vending machine, book an appointment without confirming 19× the time and date...

Normální život… just in Czech too.

Worried Immersion is not for you?

Before you decide that everyone inside probably speaks magnificent Czech while casually debating Czech politics over coffee... 😄

“My Czech probably isn't good enough.”

We are called slowczech because our clients are not that far 😉 Ano, je pravda that you do need a bit of Czech but only because you need to make some sentences, understand some things and somehow communicate.

If you know less than 50 words, 1:1 is a better option for you.

“But my brain shuts down after a few words.”

Ano! This is why we are here. We all fight the same battle.

We practise what to do inside that very moment.

“Everyone else will be better than me.”

…thinks every single Immersion participant, fakt!

We are not competing here. We help each other and celebrate every single improvement. This is not Czech n Olympics in Rohlík nad Labem 😀

“I already did tons of courses...”

Then you definitely won’t be alone. You can swap the best and worst stories from all the courses you’ve tried, haha.

Seriously, we don’t throw “Open the book on page 58” at you. We guide you to USE what you already know. And when you can’t access it yet, we help you try again. And again. Until you can do it on your own in real life.

“I'm shy in groups.”

We rarely meet extroverted or attention-seeking people at slowczech. 90% of fabulous clients in any course and in Immersion, too, need slower pace, more time, reassurance, feeling seen. That is why most speaking happens in breakout rooms of 2–4 people and not with 20 faces silently watching you struggle.

“I have kids / work / life. What if I miss Monday?”

Come Wednesday, protože…. tramtadadaááá the best feature of the immersion incoming… lessons stand alone .

We make sure you do not feel behind after missing jednu, dvě, tři, čtyři… lekce while you were dealing with your sick family member, deadline or prostě life.

“I was so nervous that everyone else was going to be better and I would be sitting like a stone, just not reacting.” — Janice, before joining Immersion

What do I actually get?

Only features that help you USE the Czech while living your life, protože we do not want to create a 24/7-monster-student. We want to help the real-you show up in your real life.

2× live practice every week

Monday + Wednesday, 18:00–19:00 Czech time.

Real situations in small breakout groups.

2 private 1:1 sessions

Two 30-minute sessions for your Czech, your questions and the situations you personally need.

iImmersive Czech

Videos, podcasts and activities created around what this Immersion group actually wants to use Czech for.

YOUR real-life goals

Not “reach B1”.

More like: talk to my child's teacher, survive the doctor, joke with colleagues or finally get beyond Kartou prosím.

☕ Sunday student calls

Optional weekly practice at 20:00 with the people you already know. Often topics get re-practise on Sundays. No tutor here.

private community

In Skool platform. All materials, questions about grammar or films, calendar, small wins... at one special slowczech place (no app needed).

What actually happens in one lesson?

Dobrý den, studenti, dneska trénujeme akuzativ. Write it down: akuzativ for feminine is -U… Ehm… you got it, this is NOT happening!! 😄

18:00
We arrive and share updates.
Wanna share that over the weekend you asked your friend about their house at the BBQ and didn’t switch to English immediately? Wanna share that you failed spectacularly? We connect and warm up our Czech tongues and minds 🙂
18:05–18:25
Real-life situation #1.
Teachers explain it in 2–3 sentences and act/play the situation for you. You have images, words and everything you need in Google Slides — available 24/7 and ready BEFORE every lesson.

Then you go to breakout rooms with another 1–3 people. And you practise USING Czech = thinking, trying, figuring it out...
18:25–18:35
Come back to the main room.
What happened? Anyone wanna share? Questions? Ask. Laugh. Correct. Ask again. Or say nothing.
18:35–18:55
Real-life situation #2.
Another situation, different people and another chance for your brain to discover: “Hey, speaking Czech is actually doable!!”

Tutors move between rooms, help when you need them, don’t help when they see you don’t need them, and most importantly… slowly guide you towards needing tutors less and less.

What changes for students?

Not “I woke up fluent on Thursday”... něco lepšího! 😄

FABIAN
Fabian, slowczech Immersion participant “I already spoke to the courier — hurá!”

“And I had a few sessions with my physiotherapist... in Czech! Sometimes with my hands, but still... I noticed something huge: I wasn't scared anymore.”

CHRISTINE
Christine, slowczech Immersion participant “I can put my own thoughts into sentences and express what I am trying to communicate.”

“I am always understood, even with all of my grammatical or pronunciation mistakes. I have started to really communicate in Czech!”

MEGAN

“The focus was on speaking and understanding. Grammar was there — but hidden, subtle, folded into natural conversation.”

“I kept speaking. I felt good about it. I felt confident.”

JULIE

“I've gotten over myself about getting it wrong.”

“It's absolutely inevitable, so I just go for it now!”

ANDY

“For me, the most useful thing is that now I use Czech every day.”

“I can order food, talk to a doctor, formal Czech is not a problem for me.”

DANIËLLE

“Lessons were so great! I really enjoyed the variety in topics.”

“I appreciated that we were able to practise some grammar while still focusing on conversation.”

DEREK

“The Immersion Program has given me the opportunity to speak with people who are in the same situation as me.”

“They are genuinely interested and supportive to listen when I speak. Which is the feeling I was searching for so long for my Czech.”

JANICE

“I was so nervous that everyone else was going to be better and I would be sitting like a stone, just not reacting.”

And then inside Immersion: “You do what you can do. It doesn't matter.”

🐟

KAPŘI

Lower speaking level

You know little Czech, and creating even one sentence still takes a lot of energy. You can say things like: “Já jsem Elizabeth, včera… já… jdu do kino… Film… jo super. Mám ráda film.”

You can say simple things about your life, understand simple questions when you have context, pause, translate and search for words. English or gestures appear when a word disappears.

Slower pace · simpler situations · more support · more time

🤿

POTÁPĚČI

Upper speaking level

You can tell short, simplified stories. You still translate or rehearse first. You sweat, you are scared, and fast replies can still make you freeze if you don't know the person.

You want to understand group conversations and jokes. You want to explain your thoughts and opinions and show your humour without the intruder called English.

Faster reactions · richer conversation · more natural Czech

Choose the one that sounds closest based on the description. If you don't feel like “this is my group”, we move you to the other level.

Who will guide you?

Ne jedna lektorka, ale devět.

Eliška from slowczech

Eliška

“This program is designed for your real life, not for textbooks. Your Czech belongs with your people.”

Šárka from slowczech

Šárka

“The students' energy shoots me up into the sky every single time! The shared power is a completely different dimension.”

Maruška from slowczech

Maruška

“I absolutely love this Program. Teaching together in the same lessons? That's just a whole new level.”

Jindra from slowczech

Jindra

“During the lessons, I feel the energy of the people there... their motivation is incredible.”

Vendy from slowczech

Vendy

“That's awesome there isn't just one tutor in each lesson. It's a total blast. To je pecka!”

Daniela from slowczech

Daniela

“Three tutors in one session? That's a whole different story. What a riiiiideeeeeee.”

Michaela from slowczech

Michaela

“I enjoy so much seeing people speak more and more WITHOUT my assistance.”

Monča from slowczech

Monča

“There's openness, support... and so much more. I'm really happy and thankful to be part of this.”

Gabča from slowczech

Gabča

“As teachers, we collaborate, see how someone else leads a lesson, and we get to know each other even better.”

And notice what Michaela said: We actually WANT to see you speak more and more without us.

The goal of four months is not:
“I can speak Czech when my lovely slowczech tutor is beside me.”

The goal is: “Okay. There is an actual Czech human in front of me. And I can handle this.”

Poprvé in Immersion? Try the actual program for 14 days.

Participate during your first 14 days, try the live practices, immersive audio/video and the community.

If you decide it isn't for you and meet the conditions below, your final cost for those 14 days is 2,000 CZK.

Complete conditions are in Programme Policies below.

7 questions before you join

1. What Czech level do I need?

You need to know some Czech already. Complete beginners starting completely from zero are not a fit.

You absolutely do NOT need fluent Czech. If you can make some sentences, understand some simple Czech with context and communicate somehow — even slowly, messily and with pauses — look at the Kapři description above.

2. What if I freeze, feel shy or everyone else is better than me?

You don't need to arrive confident.

Many people join precisely because they freeze, overthink, forget words or understand much more than they can say.

You normally speak in groups of around 2–4 people. You can pause, ask for repetition, explain around a missing word and take the time you need.

3. What if I miss some lessons?

Come to the next one.

Live practices are stand-alone, so missing Monday does not mean you first need to catch up on five worksheets before Wednesday.

Live lessons and Sunday community calls are not recorded.

4. Is this just conversation? What about grammar?

Grammar is absolutely allowed here. 😄

We just don't make it the entrance ticket to speaking.

When a structure is useful for what you're trying to say, tutors explain it, correct it and help you use it.

We don't interrupt every sentence to repair every ending while everybody forgets what the conversation was actually about.

5. What payment options do you offer?

You can pay in three ways:

Stripe / online card payment — immediate.

Benefit Plus — possible if your employer gives you Benefit Plus benefits.

Invoice — possible only until 30 September and please allow 3 days for processing.

6. Can I stop after one month?

Immersion is one four-month program, not a cancellable monthly membership.

The complete price is 16,000 CZK, paid in four monthly instalments of 4,000 CZK.

Your place is reserved for the whole program. The exception is the 14-day experience for first-time participants, under the conditions below.

7. How does the 14-day experience work?

First-time Immersion participants join the real program from day one.

To use the 14-day option, attend all scheduled Real Life Practice sessions during that period up to a maximum of four, complete at least one immersive audio/video session, join the Skool community and email us within the deadline.

If you decide not to continue and meet the conditions, your final cost for those first 14 days is 2,000 CZK.

The 1:1 sessions become available after the experience period.

  • Small breakout-room conversations, normally approximately 2–4 participants depending on attendance and activity.

  • Changes depend on your Czech, real-life goals, group balance and available space.

6. Public holidays and Christmas break

There are no Real Life Practice sessions during the Christmas break from 21 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.

  • email contact@slowczech.com within 14 days of the programme start

The 2 × 30-minute 1:1 sessions are not included in the 14-day experience.

8. Individual 1:1 sessions

  • Participants who continue after the 14-day experience receive 2 × 30-minute individual sessions with a tutor from the Immersion team.
  • Booking instructions are provided inside Skool.
  • Unused sessions cannot be refunded, transferred, exchanged for cash or carried into another programme.

9. Community, communication and materials

  • Operational communication, links, updates, resources and community discussions take place inside Skool.
  • Programme materials are for personal use only.
  • You may not record live sessions, breakout rooms, community calls or other participants.

10. Community conduct and privacy

  • The programme is built on safety, respect, confidentiality and trust.
  • You agree to respect other participants, tutors, personal stories, accents, mistakes, boundaries and privacy.
  • Content shared by participants stays private unless the person gives explicit permission.

11. Tutor assignments and programme adjustments

Specific tutors, breakout-room composition, activities, platforms and supporting content may change during the cohort while preserving the core Immersion experience.

12. Your participation and results

Immersion is an active programme. Tutors provide structure, support, feedback and opportunities to practise.

Slowczech cannot guarantee a particular CEFR level, exam result, fluency level or individual outcome.

Your progress depends on your starting point, attendance, engagement, practice and individual circumstances.

13. Questions before joining

If you are unsure whether Immersion is suitable for you, which level to choose or whether you can meet these commitments, contact us before enrolling.

These programme-specific policies supplement the general slowczech Terms of Service accepted during checkout.

languages, culture, safe space

I’m based in Brno — a city I love. I’m passionate about traveling, dancing, and personal growth, and I’m always looking to improve. I’m learning languages myself, so I understand the challenges. My lessons focus on speaking, with plenty of space for you to practice. We’ll set your goals together. I can also help you prepare for the A2 exam or CERMAT tests.

Lucie

languages, culture, safe space

I’m a Czech and German tutor. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and helping them feel comfortable in the country they have chosen to live in. I believe that language connects us, opens doors to people, culture, and the feeling of “I belong here.”

When I’m not teaching, I like to ride my bike, dance, walk in nature, garden, or relax with a book and a good glass of wine.

Gabriela

smile, empathy, love for Czech

I have been teaching the Czech language my whole life, both as a native language and as a foreign language. I love to laugh and talk a lot. I can’t imagine my life without my big family and books. My life motto is: ‘Every cloud has a silver lining.’ And believe me—it really does! Let’s learn Czech together and discover the beauty of the Czech Republic!

Interesting tidbit: the illustration below depicts a “táborák”, a beloved tradition in Czechia. Friends and families gather around a campfire to relax, chat, grill buřty, and sip beer.

With slowczech, we aim to provide you with a similar atmosphere: a warm, welcoming space to meet fellow learners and practice your Czech in a no-pressure setting. Enjoy! :)
