Immersion Program

4-month group program for thoughtful Czech learners who are ready to stop feeling disconnected from people, culture, or themselves... and finally become part of Czech life.

No grammar drills. No jumping between methods. No overwhelm.

Just real conversations, real people, and real confidence.

Speak Czech, laugh, belong.

Your next Czech adventure starts January 2026.

we are slowczech network komunita pro lektorky cestiny pro cizince

Let us tell you something...

If you believe you will speak Czech better with “just a bit more grammar” or “a few hundred more words”… this program is not for you.

But if you’ve been the one nodding along in a group, pretending you’re part of it, while inside you feel excluded, frustrated, and tired of not finding the words… you’re in the right place.

Because the only way to speak Czech without overthinking endings is to speak it more and speak it for real... in real conversations, with real people, about things that actually matter to you.

This is a time-limited group program!
We’ll start and progress together.

from 25 January to 25 July 2025

We know that...

You’re not a complete beginner anymore.
You can follow conversations… at least partly.
You’ve done the exercises. You know the grammar rules. You’ve learned the words.

But when it’s time to react to that kind question from your family member, colleague, neighbour, or friend…
your mind goes blank.
You freeze.
You overthink every other word.

Because you worry about sounding awkward after all those years of learning Czech.
You’re afraid to get it wrong… again.
And then… you or the Czech person switch to English.

Even when you do understand the topic, you miss what really matters…
the quick replies, the cultural references, the subtle jokes…
because real Czech sounds nothing like your textbook, sakra!

And suddenly, you feel like a child trying to join an adult conversation.

… you can’t show your humour, your opinions, your real thoughts.
… and every time you try, the words feel clumsy, too simple… not you.

Navíc, when people speak fast, it’s like they’ve changed into another language entirely!
You hesitate. You doubt yourself. You retreat.

But the most frustrating part?
You know you’re smart. You’ve put in the effort. You’ve invested so much time.

Yet speaking still feels like a fight you can’t win.
And Czech feels like a puzzle you’ll never quite solve.

Deep down, you’re tired of “learning Czech.”
You don’t want another list of verbs.

You don’t want to survive the conversation with simple phrases and hope “they’ll understand you.”
You want to own it.

You want to speak Czech freely, confidently, without that constant pause in your head.

You want to feel like yourself here… witty, deep, clever, you… just in Czech.

Yesss… you want to feel you belong here.
You want to be part of the community.

In just 4 months, start feeling at home in Czech conversations.

Christine in Ottawa, Canada, former elementary school teacher and principal

"I gained the assurance to actually use my Czech in real situations."

Specifically, speaking with my husband is becoming more and more natural; I can even make argumentative statements when discussing. I now listen daily to Czech video clips and even respond in Czech in the comments section online.

I am filled with the feeling of 'Yes I can, yes I will, yes I do!' You know, that 'unstoppable me' feeling. Because I truly believe that I have become this person: "Já umím česky."

Fabian Kuriata living in Ostrava, from Poland

"I talked to the delivery guy and my physio... in Czech!"

The best part? She doesn’t speak English, so I had to manage in Czech... and I did! Sometimes with my hands, but still… I noticed something huge: I wasn’t scared anymore.

All this good feeling thanks to the Immersion program.

Let's imagine together:

⚪️ You’re sitting at the dinner table with your Czech in-laws, and this time, you’re not just nodding. You’re asking questions, sharing a little story, and seeing their faces light up.

🔴 You’re chatting with your friends at a barbecue… and you actually join the conversation!!
You laugh with them. Not because you’re pretending to understand… but because you do understand, rozumíš!

🔵  You feel connected to your Czech ancestors in a new way,
not through history books or old photos, but through words you can finally speak and understand.

⚪️ You surprise yourself. You speak up at work, you handle a delivery guy, you tell your neighbor “Hezký den!” and she smiles and stays.

🔴 You no longer feel like you’re on the sidelines of your own life… You’re part of it. Speaking Czech. Ano, not perfectly, but proudly.

🔵 Most impotantly… you feel more connected: to your family, your colleagues, your Czech life.

And it feels good. It feels like you finally belong.

It’s not a dream. It’s your next Czech chapter.

And it starts here.

That’s why we created the Immersion Program.

A 6-week taste of the full Immersion...

... lighter, but sakra cool 🙂

You’ll speak more, overthink less, and finally feel the shift.

Small wins, real confidence, and a clear glimpse of what’s possible. Because big change starts with one bold step.

A ano, this is a revolutionary approach to learning. 💥🎈

Almost 100 learners joined Immersion programs in 2025... most of them nervous at first, just like you… but they did it anyway.

Now read what they said… They made the decision, and one small win after another, they began to speak.

Slowczech isn’t just group lessons… it’s a community. And our tutors? They’ll connect with you in Czech too.

Here’s what they say about the magic of the program:

tutor Šárka

“Girls, I just have to share the excitement that shakes me up after every shared lesson in the Program.

The students’ energy is better than coke—it shoots me up into the sky every single time.
But what truly makes me pee my pants with joy is the collaboration with you, the fellow tutors.

That shared “power” (meaning the support, connection, and being on the same wavelength) is a completely different dimension—and I want more of it. I’m seriously loving it.”

tutor Maruška

I absolutely love this Program! 💪😁

It’s not something that happens often—that a tutor gets to teach alongside another tutor, let alone two!

We were colleagues before, sure—but actually teaching together in the same lessons? That’s just a whole new level. 🥳”

tutor Jindra

“Woooow, what a ride and what power—I feel that deeply. Managing all of this… wow.

During the lessons, I feel the energy of the people there—their motivation is incredible.
Right now, I just feel so grateful for all of you. I sense the same fire in every one of us.

We’re combining strength, creativity, and ideas.
There’s openness, support… and so much more.

I’m really happy and thankful to be part of this.

tutor Vendy

“That’s awesome—there isn’t just one tutor in each lesson!

This way, we can collaborate more, see how someone else leads a lesson, and get to know each other even better 🤩💪🏼🙌🏼

It’s a total blast (To je pecka!) 💣”

tutor Daniela

“I’ve experienced an intensive course where we passed students between us—because one tutor just couldn’t handle it alone.
But three tutors in one session? That’s a whole different story.
This aspect feels super interesting to me, and I can’t yet see all the ways it might play out.

What a riiiideeeeeee 🥳

"The Immersion Program has given me the opportunity to speak with people who are in the same situation as me because they are genuinely interested and supportive to listen when I speak. And that’s the feeling I had been searching for in my Czech for so long!"

Derek Montgomery from Canada

Learn Czech that makes you feel heard. Jdeme na to!

What makes the Immersion Program unlike anything else?

1. You will learn real, everyday language.

At slowczech, we don’t teach boring, Czech textbook.

Because nobody talks like a textbook, že jo?

2. You’ll learn with 10 tutors by your side.

Also, we don’t stick to one voice or one accent.

Because in real life, no two Czechs sound exactly the same.

3. You will become that confident speaker.

We make sure you feel ready to speak.

Because you know that confidence is the real key here.

4. You will absorb the languge naturally.

We carefully pick up immersive content for you.

Because speaking a language is firstly about being surounded by that language.

5. You will feel supported by a community who gets your reasons to learn Czech.

You’ll never feel like you’re on this journey alone.

Because learning Czech is faster with the like-minded people who get you!

Eliška, slowczech founder and leader

"Everything we do here is for you… so you can finally speak Czech confidently in your everyday life. I know how much you want this, I know how hard you’ve worked… and I know you’re ready. You can do it… and you will!"

How does it work?

This Immersion Program fits into your life while bringing Czech into focus.

1️⃣ Speak every week in small groups

You get live speaking lessons every week. Always small, always guided by 2–3 tutors who make sure you’re never lost.

Each session is built around a topic you help us choose. It could be a role-play of a real situation, diving into Czech culture, dsicussion or even practicing that one grammar point that keeps blocking you.

👉 Breakout rooms = your chance to speak. You’ll be in groups of 2–4 people, so everyone speaks. A lot.

👉 Slides and tasks keep you on track. You won’t just float in random conversation: we guide you, while still keeping it real and natural.

👉 No boring lectures. No passive listening. This is real-life Czech practice, where your Czech is the center.

And the best part? You don’t need to join all lessons. Every session is independent, so you can jump in when it fits your life. 🎈

Because slowczech is not about perfection. It’s about finally speaking, laughing, and feeling like yourself… in Czech.

2️⃣ Immersive content that fits your life

You’ll get a hand-picked selection of Czech videos and podcasts containing real-life stories, and dialogues… to soak up the language the natural way
No boring drills. No textbook nonsense.

Just real Czech, real voices, and supportive worksheets to help you follow along.
Not overwhelming, just enough to keep you moving.
Go at your own pace. It’s yours to explore. 🎈

3️⃣ A community that actually gets you = learners and teachers

You’re not doing this alone.

You’ll be surrounded by like-minded learners and caring, down-to-earth tutors who are here to support you, guide you, and make sure you never feel judged, rushed, or left behind.

No pressure. No perfectionism.
Just a kind, human space where you’re free to speak, mess up, laugh… and try again.

We’re in this together. 🎈

4️⃣ Real Czech. None of the textbook nonsense.

No made-up dialogues about train stations or Marie preparing the chicken in the kitchen.
No lists of words you’ll never actually use.

We ask you what you need in your life—at home, at work, with family.
Then we build the lessons around that.

You’ll learn normal Czech. The kind people actually say.

What you hear in lessons = what you’ll hear in the streets.

Because this isn’t school. It’s your Czech life.
Let’s speak it for real.  🎈

The slowczech approach actually takes away the fear of speaking and turns it into acceptance: “I speak in a broken way, and that’s okay.” I really appreciate all the improvements I’ve experienced because of that.

Shih Chienyu

Megan Pirunčíková ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“I loved the freedom to join when I could... because I am a busy adult.”
What I thought was really clever about the program was that the lessons weren’t tightly connected. You didn’t have to attend every single one to keep up. It worked brilliantly. Unlike a lot of other programs where everything builds on the last lesson and missing one leaves you feeling behind (or even stupid), here, each lesson was like a bite-sized, self-contained experience. Because slowczech is well aware that they are teaching adults!! And that kind of flexibility is golden. Even with the best intentions, many of us just can’t always make it to class or do the homework. This format gave us space to show up when we could, and feel good about it.

This isn’t just another level-based course.

Because real life isn’t divided into levels. You can know 2,000 words and still feel afraid to order a coffee. Or you can have finished just two grammar chapters and already chat with a friend in the hospoda.

It’s not just about what you know... it’s about your confidence and focusing on what truly matters. That’s why this program is NOT built around level... but around three practical sections:

event illustration

Basics and daily life

This section is your foundation, filled with everything you need to handle the practical side of Czech life. You’ll manage everyday tasks or basic situations with ease, such as: making a phone call with a delivery guy, engaging in small talk with your neighbour, ordering food, or navigating cizinecká policie. You’ll feel more at home.

workshop illustration

Family and social interactions

This section is all about connecting with the people around you. You’ll learn how to have meaningful conversations with family, friends, and neighbors… whether it’s about traditions, household matters, or social events. The goal here is independence and building stronger connections. Each lesson and piece of content is designed to bring you closer to feeling like you truly belong in these important interactions.

free ebook for czech teachers illustration

Fluency and cultural integration

We’ll explore more advanced topics like workplace conversations, cultural traditions, and Czech values. This section helps you understand the humor, behaviors, and nuances that make Czech culture unique. Each lesson builds your confidence to join deeper conversations and connect more closely with Czech society, bringing you closer to fluency and feeling like a true part of the culture.

You’ll be ready for real-life situations. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced learner, you’re capable of taking part in Czech conversations.

It’s not about your level. It’s your confidence that counts!

"Děkuji mockrát za všechny organizaci. Mám moc ráda, že všechno tady májí hodně energie a motivace. A všichni studenti jsou hodní :)) "
Julie B. from UK⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Ahoj z Brna! I've 'gotten over myself' about getting it wrong. It's absolutely inevitable, so I just go for it now! Thanks to everyone for the Immersion course!"
Rachel B. D.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"I liked the conversation hours. It helped me flex my Czech muscles a bit more. I don’t live in the Czech Republic and only visit for about a month every year, so I don’t have many opportunities to speak it. My spouse is Czech but I struggle with conversing in Czech with him. Thank you again for this program! Although I was not using it to the fullest, I was finding value in the portions I participated in."
Derek M. from Canada⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Immersion program has given me the opportunity to speak with people who are in the same situation as me. I find it much easier to listen to them speak Czech rather than native Czech speakers who speak so quickly, and they seem genuinely interested and supportive to listen when I speak."
Christine J. from Canada⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Why did the immersion program help me? Because Eliška never let us doubt ourselves. She was constantly, relentlessly encouraging. There was simply no space for discouragement... she made sure of that. And that, to me, is the true art of teaching: lifting people up, keeping the energy high, and helping our motivation not just survive, but grow."
Gerhard L. from Austria⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"It's what I really liked: there were so many interesting People from around the globe. Over the time we really learned to know each other better and this really helped o improve the speaking skills. For me the regular Appointments during the week were very important."
Andy B. from UK⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"For me, the most useful thing is that now I use Czech every day. I can order food, talk to a doctor, formal Czech is not a problem for me. "
Daniëlle L. from Holand⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Lessons were so great! I really enjoyed the variety in topics. I also really appreciated that we were able to practice some grammar while still focusing on conversation. Czech grammar is something I really struggle with so I'm also happy to practice and improve that. It's been amazing and I am really happy I joined the course. A big thank you to you and all the other lovely teachers 🙂 "

We want you to start living it.

> Speaking with your partner’s family.

FAQ

What is the schedule for the real-life practice lessons?

The schedule is consistent and occurs weekly (Czech times):

  • Mondays: 19:30–20:30
  • Wednesdays: 19:30–20:30
  • Fridays: 16:00–17:00

What if I can’t continue or change my mind?

This is a 4-month commitment. Your spot is reserved for the whole program, so payments continue even if you miss lessons or decide to stop. No refunds… which is why we want you to be sure you’re ready before joining.

What about grammar, is that covered at all?

Our main focus is on real-life interactions, building confidence, and practical language use. While we touch on grammar to support your progress, it’s never really the main focus. We include light grammar practice, but only in a way that helps you speak and understand Czech naturally—no endless drills or overthinking!

What am I actually getting?

For 4 months, you’ll have everything you need to finally live in Czech… not just learn it.

You get:

  • 3×60-minute live lessons every week in small groups = real-life speaking practice, each lesson stands alone, so you can join when it fits without worrying you’re “behind”

  • Native Czech tutors who guide you to speak more naturally… without interrupting every 3 words

  • Mini speaking tasks & content immersion you can do anytime (or not at all, it’s up to you!)

  • Private Skool community where you can connect, ask, share, and get feedback

  • Light grammar when it helps you, but no endless drills or homework

You decide how deep you go, from just showing up for the lessons to diving into 10+ hours of Czech a week. Either way, this is built to fit your real life… no guilt, no impossible goals, just steady, real progress.

What if I can’t attend the real-life practice?

No need to apologize! Unfortunately, there are no recordings of the lessons, but you can always ask in the discussion group about how the lesson went and catch up on insights from others.

Do I need to know some basic Czech?

Depends on how brave you are. 🙂 But the Program is not designed for complete beginners. If you’re brand new to Czech, the “SPEAKER’S STARTER” can make you ready for the Immersion Program. Write to us for details.

What if I’m shy about speaking?

No worries! Our environment is judgment-free and perfection-free. You’re welcome to join, listen, and take your time to see what feels right for you. We’ll encourage and support you in speaking, but we’ll never push you beyond your limits. It’s all about progress at your pace.

When and where does the program take place?

The Immersion Program runs from 22 September 2025 to 22 January 2026.

All live lessons happen online via Zoom, and the community space is hosted on Skool—, friendly platform where you connect, share, and access all the materials. (No need to download the app, but it’s an option if you prefer it on your phone.)

How much time do I need each week?

We have 3×60-minute live lessons every week. but they’re not connected, so if you miss one, you won’t feel lost or guilty, and you won’t “miss the grammar topic” like in a traditional class.

Everything else — the content immersion, mini-tasks, and Skool interactions — is up to you. You can spend anywhere from 0 to 10 hours a week on it.

Just be kind to yourself. Accept that you have a full life. Don’t set massive goals that feel impossible. That’s why the lessons are independent… they’re real-life speaking practice you can join whenever it fits, without the pressure.

Until when do I need to join?

Once we start on 22 September 2025, doors close. We don’t accept late joiners because the group bonds and learns together from day one, from the Kick-off event. If you miss the start, you’ll need to wait for the next round.

Interesting tidbit: the illustration below depicts a “táborák”, a beloved tradition in Czechia. Friends and families gather around a campfire to relax, chat, grill buřty, and sip beer.

With slowczech, we aim to provide you with a similar atmosphere: a warm, welcoming space to meet fellow learners and practice your Czech in a no-pressure setting. Enjoy! :)

Eliška

business, mother, polyglote

I am slowczech founder and from my experience I know two things: beginners can understand words with time. And enjoyable input is vital for natural language acquisition. Many give up Czech due to old methods, irrelevant vocabulary or overwhelming grammar. Let’s change that and make learning Czech exciting and effective.
