Stop memorising prefixes. Start recognising them.
A self-paced story-driven course that breaks the old memorisation method and teaches you Czech prefixes the natural way.. with intuition and clarity.
Do you ever feel like Czech prefixes are… tiny monsters? 😄
Like they just multiply…
vy-jet, od-jet, pře-jet, do-jet, roz-jet…
Aaaah!
You look at them and think:
“Why are there so many???”
“How do I know which one means what?”
“How do I remember all of them?”
“Why does every verb suddenly have 10 siblings?”
“Why is Czech LIKE THIS?!”
You’re not confused, hihi, jo, je pravda, že Czech prefixes are complicated if you learn them the old way.
Memorizing vyjet, sjet, dojet, přejet, rozjet, vjet,… in your textbook. Even if with pictures, you somehow feel that this is not helping you.
You don’t need another list of
vy-, do-, pře-, roz-, od-…
You need to feel what they do.
🔵 What if prefixes finally made sense?
Not through grammar charts but through…
… stories.
… through context.
… through repetition that feels natural.
… through humour.
… through Czech that sounds like real Czech people and not textbook robots.
Because your brain remembers what feels meaningful.
Just like you remember the taste of good beer 🍺 or the feeling of sitting at a zahrádka in summer.
You were to “studying taste of good beer”, you were experiencing it and that is why your brain remembered it.
🔵 What will change for you with this course?
Instead of: “I have to remember what DO- means…”
You start thinking: “Aha… DO- feels like finishing.”
Instead of: “Why does Czech have so many versions??”
You think: “Oh. They’re related. They just move differently.”
Instead of stress → you get the pattern.
Instead of memorising → you start understanding.
This course helps you internalise prefixes the same way you learned your first language: through story, context, and repetition.
Not analysing and sweating.
Just absorbing :))
Sign up for immersive learning adventure.
🔵 Why stories?
Because your brain LOVES stories more than charts.
And because stories give meaning to prefixes, without you needing to study.
Dr. Stephen Krashen (the godfather of comprehensible input) says:
We acquire language when we understand messages.
Not when we study rules.
And he’s right.
Trying to learn prefixes by memorising lists is like:
👉 trying to ride a bike by reading a physics book :)))
👉 trying to bake a bábovka by analysing flour molecules 😛
👉 trying to swim by reading instructions on a towel 😀
Czech prefixes only make sense in context. And that’s why this course gives you:
short stories
lots of repetition
natural examples
simple Czech
audio + text + video
You don’t memorize.
Your brain simply starts recognising patterns… fakt automaticky :))

Who designed this course?

To je Eliška,
slowczech founder and Czech language tutor, has been passionately guiding fabulous learners in both offline and online settings since 2014.
Her journey into teaching was inspired by her own experience of learning German, leading her to create slowczech audios in 2016 initially as a hobby.
During this period, she was living in France with her husband, who dreamt about buying a Defender, while Eliška herself wanted to travel the world. In 2018, they embarked on an exciting six-month European road trip. This adventure culminated in a life-changing decision: relocating to the Czech Republic and dedicating herself full-time to teaching Czech to foreigners.
Eliška switched very quickly to the effective teaching philosophy of slow, comprehensible Czech speech. Finding traditional language schools lacking in fulfilling her vision, she created slowczech. This platform not only enhances the learning experience for students but also empowers tutors, celebrating the collective accomplishments and growth within the language learning journey.
